In an interview with CNBC, Jimmy Carter says he would have been reelected had he taken military action against Iran.
“I could have wiped Iran off the map with the weapons that we had, but in the process a lot of innocent people would have been killed, probably including the hostages, and so I stood up against all that, all that advice, and then eventually my prayers were answered and every hostage came home safe and free.
No thanks to him, of course.

Anyone really listening to this tired old comedian. He's trying to re-write that catastrophe that is his legacy.— Coastal (@earl_tx) October 1, 2014
The audacity of arrogance that Carter and Obama possess is breathtaking. @thehill @PeterSullivan4

@thehill @PeterSullivan4 Not sure about that, Jimmy… You were up against some pretty ruthless people.

@thehill @PeterSullivan4 Yep. Still under-rated by people who think guns solve everything.

@earl_tx @thehill @PeterSullivan4 Nope… Afghan intervention started under Carter.

Carter is likely the reason the Soviets invaded Afghanistan. Weakness invites aggression. See also Putin, Ukraine; ISIS; Behghazi; etc.
That even a President as bad as Barack Obama won a second term must really be a hard pill to swallow for Carter.
It would have taken a lot more than military action against Iran to give that wet blanket a victory over Ronald Reagan.
