“Clarissa Explains it All” and “Melissa & Joey” actress Melissa Joan Hart is a self-described conservative and pal of Mike Bloomberg’s Everytown. This week, she shared a report that the father of a newborn was shot to death in Florida when a man in an adjacent home tried to pick up a handgun by the trigger.
The man was reportedly “belligerent” when police arrived and eventually told them, “The damn gun doesn’t usually shoot…. You have to squeeze the hell out of the trigger to shoot it.” He was “charged with manslaughter and felon in possession of a firearm. He had a previous felony conviction for carrying a concealed firearm from 2006.”

The story is sad and upsetting. But what do “stricter storage laws” have to do with this? The guy cops arrested is reportedly a convicted felon barred from legally possessing a firearm and “stricter storage laws” would have made a difference?
