During a trip to New York to attend the Republican Governors Association meeting, Haley got to cross an item off her bucket list. From her Facebook page:
I have always said there are 3 people I would love to sit down with: Margaret Thatcher, Gov. Carroll Campbell, and Joan Jett. While I will never have the opportunity with the first two, Michael and I sat down with my music idol Joan Jett today and her producer Kenny Laguna. Strength, talent, passion, and courage…it doesn’t get any cooler than her.
Haley once told an interviewer:
I have a great love for Joan Jett. When I am going through the toughest times, I’ll blast her music. She was one of the first female rockers when female rockers weren’t accepted. When no one would sign her, she created her own label. And when she accomplished everything … she walked away! I mean, how cool is that?
