Shorter Google: Celebrating Flag Day is for suckers.
Google does know it’s Flag Day, right?
Right.
Last month Google won high praise for the heartwarming and emotional Google doodle that depicted a dad’s return from Iraq. The doodle by a 17-year-old student was the winner of the 2013 U.S. Doodle 4 Google competition.
But the search giant isn’t winning much praise today. Google continues to snub patriotic holidays, while Bing proudly flies the flag again.
Predictable, but citizens are taking notice:
On Tuesday, Google did highlight national pride, however: a doodle presented on some local versions of the site honored Russia Day. June 12 was also highlighted regionally as Independence Day in the Philippines.
Flag Day, not so much.
