Unfortunate typo of the year: Nightline tweets that 'shooting victims were shit'

Wow. As Twitchy reported, the media has gotten plenty wrong in its rush to report on the tragedy in Newtown, Conn., but this tweet is particularly unfortunate.

Nightline was quick to delete it and issue a corrected tweet.

Update:

The corrected tweet was deleted as well, with no acknowledgment of the original error or apology to the victims’ families. Yes, it was a typo, but sweeping it under the rug and pretending it didn’t happen was not the appropriate way to handle this.
