'I was just going to keep driving': Feds arrest ISIS-inspired man before he could plow a stolen U-Haul through D.C. pedestrians

A Maryland man has been arrested and charged with theft of a rental truck and was allegedly going to use that vehicle to plow through Washington, D.C. pedestrians in what he says would have been an ISIS-inspired attack.

He was reportedly very focused on carrying it out:

“I was just going to keep driving and driving and driving. I wasn’t going to stop,” Henry told the FBI, according to charging papers filed Monday.

28-year-old Rondell Henry of Germantown, Maryland was taken into police custody.

He was apprehended not far from the White House in Washington, D.C.:

The government’s detention memo alleges that Henry, who claimed to be inspired by the ISIS terrorist organization, stole a U-Haul van with the intention of using it as a weapon against pedestrians on sidewalks within the National Harbor complex along the Potomac River in Maryland, just outside of Washington, D.C.

Reports say he was going to pattern his attack after the 2016 attack in Nice, France in which an ISIS-inspired terrorist used a vehicle to kill 86 people.
