It seems we have reached a point in American media and politics when nothing more matters than the color of attire worn by a member of Congress or skin color.
Politico reporter and CNN analyst Rachael Bade is heavily focused on the “stark contrast” in attire, gender and race of the two parties of the 116th Congress.
Sitting above the chamber, you see the stark contrast in color btw the GOP & Dem side: the Rs are all in dark suits. Almost all white men. The Dem side is speckled with pinks and purples and greens being worn by the historic # of women. Also very ethnically diverse.

Our apologies for overlooking NPR’s Susan Davis, who also noticed that the Republican men in the House were wearing navy and black suits and not Joseph’s Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The visual representation of the full House today is striking. On one side, House GOP almost entirely white men. And almost entirely in navy blue/black suits. On other, House Democrats awash in color—both skin and dress—with women mixed in throughout.
