Brit Hume gives his opinion on what the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York’s recommended sentencing of former Trump attorney Michael Cohen means for a potential impeachment case against the president.
The Cohen sentencing memo from SDNY says Cohen committed campaign finance violations at Trump’s direction, which would itself be a violation. Hard to imagine a president impeached for that, but remember: high crimes and misdemeanors are whatever Congress decides they are.

There are a lot of questions, and as Hume states, it’s difficult to see an impeachment case based on that evidence.

If Democrats want to make impeachment their number one issue going into the 2020 election, Trump and his reelection campaign would probably be fine with that.
