Former Director of National Intelligence under President Obama James Clapper offered a denial on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that there was wiretapping of President Trump or his campaign.

But Clapper has a history of being misleading and worse.
Clapper cannot be the final word on any of this – lied to Congress, downplayed Iran threat assessment, misled about bin Laden documents.

Even The Intercept’s Glenn Greenwald, not exactly a card-carrying conservative, is puzzled by the fact that Democrats are trotting Clapper out to do their denying.
