Texas-based hamburger chain Whataburger is not going to comply with Texas’ open carry law.

Yep, and also: Customers. Gonna. Go. Elsewhere.

@Whataburger that's very anti-Texan of you! Even @inandoutburger allows open carry. Guess they'll get my business. https://t.co/0axIL44g7h

@Whataburger Boycott Whataburger for defying TX and #2A LAW

@Whataburger no open carry in the future??? You will loose a lot of business from good citizens!!!

@Whataburger Congratulations! You choose to block licensed Open Carry, I choose to go elsewhere now on. I hope you suffer for your choices!

WhatAShame!
I love @Whataburger but I can't support a company that doesn't support my #2A rights!http://t.co/pfsBPbUIY7#WhataShame

@Andfinsoln @pvenable I concur! I'm avoiding @Whataburger too! I will try to avoid gun free zone's as much as possible. #2A #OpenCarry

@Whataburger yall are a bunch of hypocrites making money off the "Texas" name. Real Texans love gun's!!! pic.twitter.com/lKbKt95zN0

@MarybethMarenco @YahooNews I think it's odd that @Whataburger never took a stance on open carry in other states #gunsense

Here’s some weekend reading the Whataburger brain trust might want to devour:

@Whataburger should read//Nothing to debate': Second Amendment, legal gun in my purse saved our lives | Fox News | http://t.co/ELvDkt12XI

— Valerie Vining (@ValerieVining) July 8, 2015

Furthermore, I think it's odd that @Whataburger, a Texas chain, didn't take its audience into account when making these rules.

Regardless, I'm not sure we're going to get rid of the stigma around firearms if we're unwilling to support open carry in businesses.
