Saturday, Twitchy reported that NBC’s Chuck Todd and BuzzFeed’s Ben Smith are in awe of Obama’s “extraordinary” power-sharing. Their gushing got the attention of Ace of Spades.
how about, "After consulting with advisers Obama agrees to abide by Bush model?" @buzzfeedben @chucktodd
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
@AceofSpadesHQ @chucktodd missed you Ace. I'd worried you were going soft.
— Ben Smith (@benyt) September 1, 2013
.@BuzzFeedBen @chucktodd keep up the Extraordinary work, gents.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
"Obama makes unprecedented decision to abide by Constitution when faced with prospect of unauthorized unpopular war" doesn't have same ring
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
No, it doesn’t.
let me explain why @buzzfeedben and @chucktodd did what they did. The base is depressed. They've been tearing hair over Obama's war threat.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
So Obama finally climbs down, and they now have to rush to reassure the base that The Hero Is Back @buzzfeedben and @chucktodd.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
And that is climbdown is actually a repudiation of the Warmonger Bush (who got authorizations for his wars) @buzzfeedben @chucktodd
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
The base really wants to read something uplifting rather than NOBEL PRIZE WINNER PONDERS UNILATERAL WAR @buzzfeedben @chucktodd
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
So what is transparently a climbdown after sending out John Kerry to make the case for URGENT NEED OF WAR… @buzzfeedben @chucktodd
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
…as Obama once again doing something "unprecedented" and getting us out of the hole Bush dug. @buzzfeedben @chucktodd
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
Neither of these men is quite stupid enough to seriously believe it's "extraordinary" to seek authorization for war @chucktodd @BuzzFeedBen
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
But that is the Narrative Obama needs, and that's the Narrative their slap-happy liberal readers want @buzzfeedben @chucktodd
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
and so they pander and politick. you know, like hard-minded Seekers of Truth do. @buzzfeedben @chucktodd
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
@AceofSpadesHQ @chucktodd it's unusual for a modern president to back away from a power grab.
— Ben Smith (@benyt) September 1, 2013
Ace poses a question to Smith:
@BuzzFeedBen @chucktodd so… okay. How many stories did you do on the Power Grab itself, Ben? How many times did you write articles…
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
@BuzzFeedBen @chucktodd ..noting that Obama was claiming the power to take us to war on his sole authority?
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
And received crickets as a response.
@BuzzFeedBen @chucktodd And by the way, it's not "extraordinary" to back away from a claim when the ENTIRE COUNTRY is against it.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
"Extraordinary: Mathematically Gifted President Comprehends What '66% Oppose' Means" by @buzzfeedben and @chucktodd
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
how about this for a *straight* headline: "Lacking Support, Weighing Options, President Punts to Congress"? @chucktodd @BuzzFeedBen
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
are you not EMBARRASSED at your determination to give Obama the Reality Show Hero Edit for EV-ER-Y-THING-GUH? @chucktodd @BuzzFeedBen
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
Listen to me: The American News media are just the Producers of a very boring and very fake Reality TV Show.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
And finally, the contrast using Obama’s own words:
O 2007: Bush can't take country to war on his own power and should be impeached if he does@bensmithben & @chucktodd: Extraordinary!!!!
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) September 1, 2013
O July 2013: I can take the country to war on my own power and I call no impeachment @buzzfeedben & @chucktodd: Extraordinary! So manly!
