New poll shows Romney and Santorum could beat Obama

A new poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports finds that both former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum could beat President Barack Obama in a general election matchup.

The poll finds that only 25 percent of voters strongly approve of the way the president is doing his job, and 44 percent of voters strongly disapprove of the way he is handling it.

In a matchup with Romney, president Obama trails 48-43 percent. In a matchup with Santorum, president Obama trails 46-45.
