In response to CNBC reporter John Harwood’s admission that the media have basically been lying about Trump’s tax cuts, Matt Yglesias took the brazenness to another level, handing out “credit” for the deception.
Nobody likes to give themselves credit for this kind of messaging success, but progressive groups did a really good job of convincing people that Trump raised their taxes when the facts say a clear majority got a tax cut. https://t.co/tcZFr8l9Ck

Yes, congrats on trying to deceive hard-working people about what’s going to happen with their money.
What an accomplishment.

“Messaging success.”
Messaging success = lying to the American people. https://t.co/Frqi4Ox3Sv

Matt Yglesias admits leftist groups and the media lied to the American people.
I don't think he was supposed to say that part out loud. https://t.co/fZb5TxORFr

It’s not that anyone is shocked that they would lie.
It’s that we have apparently reached the stage where they do victory laps in celebration of their lies.

When folks say you need to question the narrative, tweets like this are the reason why. https://t.co/5UkQfHNyTD

It’s really simple: Democrats can’t run and win against tax cuts because they put more money into hard-working Americans’ pockets and help the economy (particularly small businesses) thrive.
They know that.
So they lie.
And then they admit that they lie.
Rinse.
Repeat.
