The Washington Post published a story on Dave Portnoy on Monday that ended with this line: “Portnoy declined to comment for this story after The Post declined his terms for conducting an interview.”
Notably, they did not explain what terms Portnoy demanded of the paper whose motto is, “Democracy Dies in Darkness”:
When Insider published an investigative article accusing Portnoy of choking two women during sexual encounters and filming them without their consent, he immediately went on the offensive, attacking the article as a “hit piece.” https://t.co/yANKXN8d2o

According to Portnoy, the only thing he asked for was to record the interview so the Post couldn’t “cut and edit”:
Washpo – “Portnoy declined to comment for this story after The Post declined his terms for conducting an interview.”
My terms were let me record interview so you can’t cut and edit. Same thing I offered to let Business Insider do. Weird how nobody but me will accept these terms

Yes, it is “weird how nobody but [Portnoy] will accept these terms:
Can anyone who actually does this thing professionally give me a good reason that the Insider and the Washington Post would both refuse to let Dave Portnoy record an interview they do with him as insurance against unfair editing? Because I can't think of one.

Over to you, Washington Post and Business Insider:

It seems the Post and BI should explain their refusal to allow these terms. Maybe they have some valid reason I'm not seeing. https://t.co/l631bLTD9T

Twitter also suspended Portnoy after he posted an email exchange with Business Insider editor in chief Nicholas Carlson:
Dave Portnoy @stoolpresidente has received a 12 hour suspension from Twitter for sharing his email correspondence with the business insider editor. Credit @Bss1234561 first on the story #freeportnoy

According to Twitter, Portnoy violated Twitter’s policy of posting private information:

And the war goes on:
On a video stream today, Dave Portnoy said of Insider chief executive Henry Blodget: “Your head is going to be on my spike. … I’m coming for his throat, and anybody who stands by him’s throat.” https://t.co/veNN3FGti8
