Slate journo with 'question everything' in his bio wants pilots and engineers fired for questioning the need for the COVID-19 vaccine

Slate jounro Will Saletan wants you to “question everything.” See? It’s right there in his bio:

Except for COVID-19 vaccines, that is. If you question the vaccine you should lose your job:

If you don't have the brains or temperament to rationally assess the overwhelming evidence for vaccination, I don't want you flying my plane, and I don't want you designing my country's defense technology. https://t.co/bTBNcNcCEK

You’d think that maybe someone who does “question everything” might just be a little bit curious why so many of these educated and rational people are not doing what he wants them to do:

Perhaps these pilots and aerodynamic engineers aren't irrational psychopaths. Maybe they just have a different opinion/perspective than yours.

But, alas, this is where we are:

People don't suddenly start failing at their jobs because they don't get the vaccine. Believe it or not, that choice doesn't erase all their years of experience.

Keep in mind, thousands and thousands of the people he wants to be fired never missed a day of in-person work (or, the days they missed were because they got Covid and cleared it) while he got to work from a couch:

Wow. So many Navy Seals, Army Rangers, first responders (Fire Fighters, EMTs, Paramadics, Police) and front-line healthcare workers don't want to take it either. Seems they've assessed the "overwhelming evidence" that they've actually lived, but you don't want to hear about. https://t.co/hx5EXccVoJ

He also won’t like where this could go:

What about people who think there's more than two genders? That a fetus at 8 1/2 months is morally no different than a fingernail?
Should they be able to fly a plane? How about teach that to your children?

Yep:

Won’t be long before voting wrong gets you the same treatment. Or watching the wrong comedian. https://t.co/TYNv6CdcL4

This is 100% true and 100% maddening, but it’s what the Slate guy wants:

Ranking officer orders drone strike on 7 kids – nothing happens. No consequences

Not vaccinated while ordering strike? – Fired and discharged.

And “this is the blue-check elite world we live in on Twitter”:

I don't think the liberal arts degree journalists who copied tests to pass high-school science classes have much of a chance of designing technology or flying an airliner, but this is the blue-check elite world we live in on Twitter.

I am pro-vaccination, before you dumb here. https://t.co/M3275CRQ55
