Satire becomes reality after BBC diversity chief declares Idris Elba's 'Luther' not 'Black enough to be real'

What in the everloving f. . . . . . .

BBC diversity chief says Idris Elba's TV detective Luther 'isn't black enough to be real' https://t.co/VCjHJkiqnc

Apparently, it’s because his character doesn’t have any Black characters in the show and he doesn’t eat Caribbean food:

You know it’s bad when it’s impossible to tell the satire account “Titania McGrath” from reality:

Thrilled to see someone FINALLY calling out Idris Elba for not being black enough.

Quite frankly, with all my pioneering work for social justice, I’m far blacker than Idris Elba could ever hope to be. pic.twitter.com/AvC540sq4U

“There really is no difference now”:

Today's example of parody and reality merging. There really is no difference now. https://t.co/fMYIVNR7j6

The diversity chief is a racist?

Yesterday, it was implied I’m not black enough because I didn’t have any black friends in my photo.

Today, BBC’s diversity chief says @idriselba’s Luther “isn’t black enough” because “he doesn’t have any black friends”.

These lazy stereotypes are racist!https://t.co/sIDc7c0pnL https://t.co/bpQhEIKOfA

On the plus side, this does mean Elba can be the next James Bond, right?

Turns out Idris Elba is white so maybe he can be the next James Bond now. https://t.co/7XUAGcyNnF
