Adam Kinzinger calls out Marjorie Taylor Greene over her opposition to the Equality Act which he voted against in 2019

Just to follow up on our post yesterday, Rep. Marie Newman trolled her neighbor, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, over her opposition to the Equality Act by putting up a “Transgender flag so she can look at it every time she opens her door”:

In response, Rep. Greene put up a sign that said, “There are two genders: Male & Female” and “Trust the science!” with an accompanying tweet that said the “‘Equality’ Act” will “destroy women’s rights and religious freedoms”:

And then this led to Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who voted to strip Rep. Greene of her committee assignments over her past comments, to tweet that “this video and tweet represents the hate and fame driven politics of self-promotion at all evil costs”:

For starters, this is rich coming from the member of Congress most likely to be on MSNBC engaging in, you know, self-promotion. But maybe he can tell us what he disagrees with in regard to her opposition to the Equality Act?

You see, Rep. Kinzinger also opposes the Equality Act and he even voted against it in 2019:

ThinkProgress called him out on it at the time:

These 25 Republicans should have known better about the Equality Act
Employment, housing, and public accommodations laws in their states already protect LGBTQ citizens.

And:

Notably, 25 of the Republican members who voted no represent constituents who are already protected by state LGBTQ-inclusive state employment, housing, and public accommodation laws. None of those states have experienced the kinds of repercussions Equality Act opponents

have warned might happen if protections were passed at the federal level.

The bill did pass the House back then:

So, has Rep. Kinzinger changed his position?

More here on what’s wrong with the bill:
