There’s a fight brewing between the McCain family and the Amy McGrath campaign after she used a video featuring the late John McCain in one of her ads against Mitch McConnell.
Cindy McCain tweeted at her, “John’s memory should be used promote common ground and civility not to stoke division”:
I’m disappointed in @AmyMcGrathKY’s use of my late husband #johnmccain image in a partisan attack ad against his good friend @senatemajldr. John’s memory should be used promote common ground and civility not to stoke division.

McGrath, however, says she spoke to someone in the McCain family prior to running the ad and “received encouragement”:
Prior to running this ad, I reached out to a member of the McCain family, who I know, and received encouragement. I am saddened that Mrs. McCain sees this differently, but my intention is to honor Sen. McCain's historic vote that is also a moment of public record. pic.twitter.com/VooSAYL6xg

Oh really? Meghan McCain is asking her to name names:
Which member Amy, please name names? Because it wasn't me or my mother. My entire family communicates before such decisions and I have no idea what you're talking about.
P.S. (ex disgruntled staffers don't count as "family") https://t.co/mvAB14qHzx

So, when will McGrath say who encouraged here?
Amy does not need my permission to use a public video. But I would never undermine my mothers wishes and I don't want anyone to think it was me that had "encouraged" this ad privately. https://t.co/sJNA9kZWFp

We’re waiting, McGrath campaign.
