There’s a new Washington Post article out today that says Bernie Sanders was told by U.S. officials that Russia “is trying to help his presidential campaign”:
Breaking from WaPo: Bernie Sanders briefed by U.S. officials that Russia is trying to help his presidential campaign. Not clear what form the interference has taken: https://t.co/0T4fvjdbxe

The next stop is the FISA court to get a warrant, right? Isn’t that the next step?
That’s how this is supposed to work. If @realDonaldTrump was Obama – he’d keep this from Bernie and use it as justification to spy on his campaign instead. https://t.co/8vQs4kJDgo

Anyway, Team Bloomberg is trying to troll Sanders over it. This says “feel burn” in Russian, which we assume is supposed to be “Feel the Bern”:

Bernie’s response to Putin: “Stay out of American elections”:
Sanders on Russia: “Unlike Donald Trump, I do not consider Vladimir Putin a good friend. He is an autocratic thug…I don't care, frankly, who Putin wants to be president. My message to Putin is clear: stay out of American elections, and as president I will make sure that you do"

more Sanders, continuing to question how much of the "Bernie Bro" activity is real (though many are definitely real supporters of his): "Some of the ugly stuff on the internet attributed to our campaign may well not be coming from real supporters."

Would it even matter if Trump said this? Journos would never believe him anyway:
The contrast with Trump is key; every campaign and White House reporter in the country should demand to know if Trump will issue a statement as unequivocal as this, and if not, why not. (Spoiler: he won’t.) https://t.co/9TPiaIqFVP pic.twitter.com/VvAxmB2zrR

Case in point:
Trump, on hearing that Russia wanted to help him, fired his intelligence director. Sanders, on hearing that Russia wanted to help him, put out a statement calling Putin a thug and to stay out. https://t.co/C734gGT7Pv

And we’re already seeing conspiracy theories that this is disinformation put out by Trump officials:
US intelligence officials are trying to undermine Bernie Sanders’ campaign & credulous media outlets will help them. @MaxBlumenthal warned long ago that Russiagate would be weaponized against the left. This is an escalation of that. https://t.co/6yLpOnbdyF

Journos, be better. There will be much more of this, just like they did in 2012:
They sow discord, they manipulate, they poke and provoke. Trying to figure out “who they prefer” is such a waste of time and is counterproductive. Can we not do this. https://t.co/wUuBjQZOHG
