Earlier this morning, Fox News’ Bret Baier called President Trump’s tweet at former Ukraine Amb. Marie Yovanovitch and the subsequent accusation of witness tampering a “turning point in this hearing so far”:
That was a turning point in this hearing so far. She was already a sympathetic witness & the President’s tweet ripping her allowed Schiff to point it out real time characterizing it as witness tampering or intimidation -adding an article of impeachment real-time. https://t.co/HSCkGMIqmH

Baier wasn’t alone in thinking this was an unforced error by the president:
Trump’s tweet attacking Yovanovitch is exactly what GOPers didn’t want to have happen. Played into Dems hands as they wanted to portray Yovanovitch as a sympathetic figure. “We didn’t need that.” That’s what a Senior GOP source tells Fox about the President’s tweet.

And, of course, NOW other journos are retweeting it as if he joined the #Resistance or something:

ROFL all the journos suddenly retweeting Brett Baier.

Some examples from the new Fox News fans:
Baier just reiterated this on air, and said Republican lawmakers will have to use some of their time to clean some of this up https://t.co/dzaKafChZL

And Trump supporters let Baier know they didn’t agree with him as well:
RIP Bret's menchies https://t.co/T6Qam4W3qZ

And some examples from our side:
I think @BretBaier is far and away the best news anchor of his generation, but I respectfully disagree with him here. @realDonaldTrump has every right to speak his mind about those who condemn him. (And a disgruntled ex-employee is not as sympathetic as all that!) https://t.co/9HzBV5Ek2r

If Democrats push an article of impeachment for literally tweeting, about his Constitutional powers no less, I don’t think it will be taken seriously outside of DC. https://t.co/cmJx66fQW7

A lot of people want to have impeachment both ways: it's a political process, so Trump has no 6th Amendment due process rights, but also it's a legal process so Trump's exercise of 1st Amendment free speech rights is illegal "witness tampering." https://t.co/53LE72T7aI

Complete nonsense. And firing her, sympathetic or not, is entirely within the president's constitutional authority. Not impeachable. Why are we even wasting time with this? And why are Fox anchors suckered into it? Is the pull of "Beltway High School" that powerful? Mean tweets? https://t.co/Cqukhh7dBo

Tweeting is witness tampering? Get a grip, man. And she has already admitted that she is not a witness to anything and possesses no first hand knowledge of any interactions between POTUS and Ukrainian counterpart. https://t.co/HM06lg7hGF

Can we just get to a vote on impeaching him already and then an acquittal in the Senate which is what everyone knows is going to happen anyway?
