CNN’s Jim Acosta blamed President Trump for the late start to this morning’s D-Day event in Normandy, citing an interview he did with Fox News:
CNN’s Jim @Acosta: “One of the reasons why he [Trump] was late getting here, he was sitting down with a Fox News personality…and so it’s possible he was dishing out a lot of that red meat while he was sitting down with Fox before giving this speech.” @IngrahamAngle #DDay75 pic.twitter.com/Jiy7I6PjO6

Acosta wasn’t the only journo to make this claim:
President Trump is late to the D Day Anniversary ceremony at the cemetery overlooking Omaha beach. Veterans of D Day & the French President waited as @realDonaldTrump failed to get here on time from his golf club in Ireland.

Chaser. . .
Yes, President Trump did an interview with Fox News when he arrived. But the ceremony did not begin until French President Emmanuel Macron got there, which was after Trump was finished with the interview. From the AP’s Jonathan Lemire:
D-Day ceremony in Normandy starting thirty minutes late, veterans were waiting.
Trump did Fox News interview after he arrived, slowing him from reaching stage. But, from pool’s vantage point, he appeared to be done and ready before Macron arrived, at which point ceremony began

Excerpt of Trump’s speech here:
Trump recalls the heroic story of Army medic Ray Lambert, who suffered serious wounds during the battle on D-Day. "Ray, the free world salutes you." https://t.co/xfioLf4beF pic.twitter.com/xdYVEDNGjF
