Eruption of Anak Krakatau volcano triggers tsunami in Indonesia; 200+ dead, 800+wounded

The eruption of Indonesia’s Arak Krakatau volcano in the Sunda Strait triggered a tsunami that killed more than 200 and injured over 800 others as it struck the islands of Java and Sumatra:

At least 28 are listed as missing as well, but these are early numbers and sadly, could still rise:

Anak Krakatau: means the “son” of the infamous and deadly Krakatoa volcano whose eruption and the subsequent tsunami in 1883 killed 33,000:

Video captured the moment the tsunami struck, killing members of the pop band Seventeen who was performing on stage at the time:

It is thought the eruption triggered an undersea earthquake which led to the tsunami:

Scientists are monitoring the volcano and the risk of more eruptions/earthquakes/tsunamis is high:
