As we told you earlier, Kanye West came under fire for this tweet where he called for abolishing the 13th Amendment. We explained in our post that what he’s talking about is how the 13th Amendment, which did abolish slavery, also allowed for prison labor to continue and that’s what he wants to get rid of:
this represents good and America becoming whole again. We will no longer outsource to other countries. We build factories here in America and create jobs. We will provide jobs for all who are free from prisons as we abolish the 13th amendment. Message sent with love pic.twitter.com/a15WqI8zgu

But of all the historically ignorant responses we told you about in that earlier post, this one from Captain America himself, Chris Evans, stands out as it’s now gone mega-viral with over 218,000 likes:
There’s nothing more maddening than debating someone who doesn’t know history, doesn’t read books, and frames their myopia as virtue. The level of unapologetic conjecture I’ve encountered lately isn’t just frustrating, it’s retrogressive, unprecedented and absolutely terrifying. https://t.co/4jCFwB4T5U

We do wonder what is Evans’ position on forced prison labor. Is he for it? Because it’s not Kanye who is making a jacka** out of himself here:

Gonna enjoy the part where he gets called racist or is there an exemption when you're a wealthy white leftist?
Let me know. https://t.co/jlU52orf49

Saying that the black artist and entrepreneur doesn’t read books is pretty close to being racist, Chris. Maybe apologize?
