Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defeated incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley by 4136 votes in a primary where only 13% of registered Democrats bothered to vote. And for that, The Nation is declaring her the next Barack Obama:

Politico editor-in-chief Blake Hounshell adds that he doesn’t remember then Illinois State Sen. Barack Obama “struggling in interviews”:
