BACKTRACK IN PROGRESS: Rep. Steve Cohen clarifies his comment on Purple Heart for Peter Strzok

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN), under fire for saying yesterday that FBI agent Peter Strzok deserved the Purple Heart medal, issued a statement clarifying what he really meant.

Like President Trump, we should take him seriously but not literally:

Cohen’s suggestion that Strzok, who was fired by Mueller and criticized by the IG, deserved a Purple Heart medal was widely slammed for the comment:

And apparently Rep. Cohen was blocking people on Twitter who demande he apologize right up to the moment he clarified his remarks:
