It appears the new Dem push to “Abolish ICE” might have hit a snag. That snag being that the vast majority of Americans, including Dem, disapprove of abolishing the agency:

But it's worth noting that proponents of the policy aren't necessarily expecting it to be popular. They're expecting it to shift the Overton Window, as the kids say…

Does that strategy actually work? I don't know—I'm skeptical. But I expect to see more of it from left-ish folks who feel that Democratic incrementalism has failed.
