Watch and judge for yourself: Here's the White House's 'Hollywood-trailer-style' video that everyone is talking about

By now you’ve probably heard that the White House put together a “Hollywood-trailer-style” video that was shown before today’s press conference in Singapore to highlight the significance of the Trump-Kim meeting.

It’s flashy, we admit. And kind of corny. But we just told you how the Obama administration’s Director of National Intelligence thinks Dennis Rodman should be used to engage North Korea. If Rodman makes sense, maybe appealing to Kim, who reportedly loves movies, with this fake trailer will actually work?

Anyway, here it is for your review:

From what we’re seeing, it didn’t go over very well with the press:

You can see the press in this shot, but it’s not clear what they think of it from the clip:

And liberals are reacting predictably to it:

Trump later said at the press conference that he showed Kim the video on an iPad. From the AP:

Using an iPad, Trump said, he showed Kim a short video made on his behalf, laying out the opportunities that could come with an agreement to eliminate North Korea’s nuclear arsenal — a story about “two men, two leaders, one destiny.”

Reminiscent of a movie trailer, the film shows images of warplanes and artillery while a narrator suggests in English and Korean that “a new world can begin today, one of friendship, respect and goodwill.”

“We had it made up. I showed it to him today, actually during the meeting, toward the end of the meeting and I think he loved it,” Trump said during a news conference. The video was broadcast on big screens at the start of Tuesday’s press conference.

So, what do you think about the video?
