As we told you on Sunday, Daily Beast columnist and radio host Dean Obeidallah caused quite a stir over a Memorial Day tweet gone wrong. Here it is again ICYMI:
This Memorial Day weekend lets honor the women and men who bravely sacrificed their lives fighting to protect our nation's freedoms by RESISTING Trump's attacks on our democracy. #TheResistance is the highest form of Patriotism! pic.twitter.com/lbGI61iikH

But then Obeidallah stepped in it, big time, when he accidentally mistook the gentleman seen in the profile pic below as a Nazi:
This is pretty bad. https://t.co/wtHAB48Nvb

The profile pic is actually the tweeter’s father, who died fighting in Vietnam and is pictured in his uniform:
1. It’s my father and not me.
2. He was a captain in the US Army.
3. He was killed in Vietnam.
4. You’re embarrassing yourself. pic.twitter.com/JudOYXs4z8— sAn jose hoCkEy (@billpresson) May 27, 2018

Obeidallah apologized, but was an a** about it as usual:

Yes, how magnanimous of him! But it would have only taken a few seconds of searching the timeline to figure out that he wasn’t a Nazi. Do better:
I’ll accept your apology, but you (and others with huge followings) have to do better in social commentary. I don’t care that you thought it was me. But historical knowledge is important.
