Amazing. NBC’s internal investigation of the suits in the NBC News division finds that management did nothing wrong over the numerous sexual harassment claims made against former “Today” star Matt Lauer:
BREAKING: NBC's internal investigation of news division after Matt Lauer firing finds no culture of sexual harassment.
— The Associated Press (@AP) May 9, 2018
According to the internal report, nobody knew anything about it:
"We found no evidence indicating that any NBC News or Today Show leadership, News HR or others in positions of authority in the News Division received any complaints about Lauer’s workplace behavior prior to November 27, 2017." https://t.co/gMGzcA4UVK

The report says “all four women who came forward confirmed that they did not tell their direct manager or anyone else in a position of authority about their sexual encounters with Lauer”:

Top Management at NBC carefully investigated Top Management at NBC and the employees chosen by Top Management at NBC to investigate Top Management at NBC completely exonerated Top Management at NBC. And people are dubious? Where's the trust? https://t.co/SPwel7785F

Investigating yourself is what you might call Fake News:

It’s the management culture at NBC that’s the problem:
A reminder of what sources from my Chris Matthews story told me about NBC:
“Their common first instinct is to protect the talent…and then turn the victim into the problem,” a former producer said. “No other workplace like this exists where you can get away with that." https://t.co/3HWY0LalJ7

The report also says Ann Curry is a liar:
Ann Curry told the WaPo that she reported concerns about Lauer’s behavior to management. Per report, “members of NBC News and Today Show leadership at the time with whom we spoke denied having any such conversation with Curry.”

As for Lauer’s door, the report says the door could not lock from the inside with the push of the magic button:
The infamous Lauer “door button” is described as a “commonly available feature” in NBC executive offices — “to provide an efficient way to close the door without getting up from the desk.” pic.twitter.com/9NNyzcNK4e
— Michael M. Grynbaum (@grynbaum) May 9, 2018
Well, we already knew that. But it did lock the door from the outside and that’s the point, no? From the Washington Post:
The automatic mechanism — which engaged a powerful magnet to close the door — locked it so that people outside the office could not enter. Anyone on the inside, however, could open the door without hitting the button, the NBC News employee said.
