Kroger, “the largest supermarket chain in the US,” announced today that it is joining Walmart and DICK’s Sporting Goods and will no longer sell guns or ammunition at any of the company’s Fred Meyer stores to anyone under 21:
Kroger, the largest supermarket chain in the US, will no longer sell guns to people under 21 at its Fred Meyer locations. https://t.co/GymjBGfHw9

But this is somewhat misleading. We’re really only talking about 43 stores in a handful of states. From the WSJ:
Supermarket chain sells firearms at 43 Fred Meyer locations in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington
But CBS takes the cake for misleading readers as their headline omits “Fred Meyer” entirely:
Kroger, the nation's biggest grocery chain, will no longer sell guns to people under 21 years of age, the company says: https://t.co/b3vepylhid pic.twitter.com/LQNU9GzuLW

Yep:
This is actually Fred Meyer, a west-coast superstore chain that's owned by Kroger. But that headline wouldn't get clicks. https://t.co/aR12jQm2HG

This is like the DICK’s announcement yesterday that it will no longer sell guns it hadn’t been selling for years:

But it’s too late to contain the snark:
I think I’ve gone to the wrong Kroger’s.
