A first for Twitter? Chris Long and Boris Epshteyn engage in civil discussion over Eagles' players skipping White House visit

Well, this isn’t something you see every day.

Here’s a civil and totally reasonable discussion between former White House staffer Boris Epshteyn and NFL star DE Chris Long on Eagles’ players potentially skipping a future White House visit with President Donald Trump:

This makes no sense to me. If you disagree with @realDonaldTrump and have something to say, why miss likely the only opportunity you will have to express that to him in person @JOEL9ONE? I wouldn’t support players boycotting a visit to the WH no matter which party held it. https://t.co/jF52uISVqg

I felt exactly the same way then. That’s why I referenced that I don’t think it makes sense to not go to WH irrespective of party. You didn’t answer my question, though, why not take the opportunity to actually express your disagreement in person?

That’s your choice, of course. But how can you know the answers unless you ask? All I am saying is that instead of posturing maybe you would have a productive dialogue with the President. Again, your right to not go and my right to criticize that public decision.

There has been consistent condemnation of hate groups by @realDonaldTrump. On the point about the potential for a positive visit, let’s agree to disagree. I do think there is room for conversation and you would come away surprised. Congrats on the big win, was epic.
