As we told you, Twitter erupted over the news that MSNBC will not renew the contract of liberal political contributor Sam Seder, reportedly over this now-deleted tweet about Roman Polanski from Sept. 29, 2009:
According to Seder, “the tweet was satirical and was intended to show his disgust with liberals at the time who were attempting to apologize for Polanksi’s past behavior.”
Seder made a second reference to Polanski on the 29th sounds satirical as well:
I've been reviewing Polanski's IMDB.com page- cannot believe "they" want to hold him accountable for raping a 13 yr old.

Keep in mind, September 29, 2009, was one of those days on Twitter where everyone was tweeting about the same topic, which in this case was Roman Polanski.
For starters, Whoopi Goldberg had said on “The View” on September 28 that Polanski didn’t “rape-rape” the 13-year-old victim:
Thank god I didn't watch "The View." Pro-Polanski is untenable. RT @Awl Rape-Rape Is The REALLY Bad One, Right? http://www.theawl.com/13903

Which certainly set conservatives off:
"Rape rape." Yay feminism! http://bit.ly/3FPITv

What's the difference between *rape* and *rape rape* Whoopi? Is that a legal distinction?

And on September 29, Twitter was talking about Hollywood scumbags like Woody Allen and Harvey Weinstein who were defending the child rapist:

All theses celebs defending Child rapist polanski makes me glad I don't much register on the celebrity totum pole. That club I don't need.

it's true the Polanski warrant is old – i was 8 when he skipped town. just 5 yrs younger than the girl he raped.

RT @davidsirota To Polanski apologists: He raped a child against her will. Repeat: HE RAPED A CHILD. He needs to go to jail immediately
— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) September 29, 2009
RT @jaketapper: would any of them defend Polanski were he: (a) a plumber? (b) a GOP lawmaker? (c) a CEO? // See Foley, Mark, 2006.
— Ed Morrissey (@EdMorrissey) September 29, 2009
And on that same day, 100+ celebrities signed a petition urging Swiss authorities to release Polanski from custody (the director was arrested earlier in the week):
I get that Scorsese, Lynch et al love his movies, but this Polanski petition is a bad look. I can't be the only one losing respect for them.
