President-elect Donald Trump took to Twitter Wednesday morning to hit back on Hillary Clinton supporters who keep bringing up lead in the popular vote.
Trump — rightfully said — that team Clinton was campaigning in all “the wrong states”:
Campaigning to win the Electoral College is much more difficult & sophisticated than the popular vote. Hillary focused on the wrong states!

That can even be broken down to the county level to explain Clinton’s Electoral College loss. From Charlie Cook of the Cook Report:
Just three counties – Macomb County, MI; York County, PA and Waukesha County, WI – elected Donald Trump: https://t.co/aSjfigfpnh pic.twitter.com/l8kcrgBAOB

And let’s not forget Donna Brazile super-awful strategy of pouring resources into Chicago and New Orleans to juice the popular vote margin:
Hillary Clinton spent millions in Chicago and New Orleans to win the popular vote instead of the election. https://t.co/cJ3EEB4Pc0 pic.twitter.com/1i2jtHbiqX

Trump went on to say he would have campaigned differently if the election were based on the popular vote…
I would have done even better in the election, if that is possible, if the winner was based on popular vote – but would campaign differently

…and that he wishes the pundits would give him more credit for spending less money than Clinton to get the win:
I have not heard any of the pundits or commentators discussing the fact that I spent FAR LESS MONEY on the win than Hillary on the loss!
