As we get ready for a weekend of NFL football and the possibility of more rich, spoiled athletes protesting police officers by refusing to stand for the National Anthem, here’s a reminder that when there’s trouble, cops run to the flames not away from them:

The woman (and two other adults who were in the car) and the infants are in the hospital with serious injuries, including broken bones and 2nd degree burns. Police are investigating if the children were properly restrained in their car seats:
Police say that the toddlers were in car seats at the time but that they are looking into whether they were properly secured in their seats.
The three adults were taken to Medstar Washington with life-threatening injuries, including broken bones and second-degree burns.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
Here’s an idea: On Sunday — 9/11 — how about everyone stands for the National Anthem to honor police officers for all the good they do?
