Apparently Disney World employees use pool nets to fight off alligators that come too close to rides

In the wake of the truly awful alligator attack at Disney World last week, a video has surfaced from 2009 that shows a Disney World employee hitting an alligator with a pole from a pool net as the reptile attempts to leave the water next to the Splash Mountain ride.

We wonder, do you have to take a class to learn how to professionally handle a wild animal like this or can anyone get the job?

Here’s another video of an alligator next to Splash Mountain from 2005:

More from TMZ just weeks before the attack:

Another video shows tourists feeding a small alligator at the Coronado Springs resort in 2013:

A review on Trip Advisor from 2005 even warned of alligators in the man-made lagoon that guests of the Coronado can use for paddle boats:

I was pleased overall with this hotel. The rooms were very clean and had all of the essentials (iron, fridge, hangers, coffee, ect.) They have a man-made lake/pond that you can rent little boats/paddle boats on, but beware of alligator! We saw several 5ft and over gators, and the resort does not post this so watch out.

And employees have since come forward to say they warned Disney about guests feeding alligators and the Bora Bora Bungalows located at the Polynesian hotel directly across the bay from the attack, but management did nothing:

Disney, you have a problem.
