'Will be enormously damaging': Donald Trump says he needs to research David Duke before denouncing him [video]

Donald Trump was asked this morning to disavow infamous KKK leader David Duke who had endorsed Trump for president last week. He refused to — three times — saying he didn’t know enough about Duke to do so:

"I don't know anything about David Duke…I know nothing about white supremacists," Trump says.

Asked about ADL's call to condemn David Duke, Trump says: "Send me a list of groups. I will do research on them." #CNNSotu

Stunning to watch.

Trump won’t condemn David Duke. Tell me again about your scenario where he wins 20% of the black vote in November? https://t.co/VlVQkDHgM4

Trump literally disavowed Duke’s endorsement on Friday:

Just deleted 3 tweets giving Trump the benefit of the doubt on Duke. You can't claim ignorance when you disavowed days ago then reversed.

Just saw this video. I take back my last few tweets. Trump disavowed Duke days ago and then reversed. Wow. https://t.co/Hm7pBuI77Z

And Trump has denounced Duke in the past, so his dodge today is strange, to say the least:

Trump on ADL's call to condemn David Duke: "You wouldn't want me to condemn a group that I don't know anything about."
