Paging @PiersMorgan, et al.: Thanks to outrage over the death of Cecil, there are now too many lions in Zimbabwe

Ever since last year’s outrage over the death of Cecil the lion, fewer wealthy hunters from around the world are traveling to Zimbabwe to hunt lions. This is a problem as there has been a population explosion on one of the largest animal reserves in Zimbabwe and now wildlife officials on the refuge might have to cull 200 of the big cats:

Apparently, the lions in the giant fenced-in park are eating all the other animals:

Bubye’s lions are decimating populations of antelope, along with other animals such as giraffe, cheetah, leopards and wild dogs, after the driest summer on record kept grasses low and made the small game easy targets.

Whoops.

According to reports, the wildlife refuge needs donations to possibly relocate the lions before they get shot. Will any of the celebrities who protested the death of Cecil step up? We’re waiting … and so are the lions!
