INSANE: NYU professor suggests breeding smaller humans and other genetic modifications to fight global warming

These people are insane. Gizmodo has a new podcast up discussing the work of Professor Mike Liao and his 2012 paper on the feasibility of genetically engineering humans to fight global warming. For real:

Modifications such as a genetically added allergy to meet and the breeding of smaller humans:

Other suggested enhancements are genetically modified night vision, “using cognitive enhancement to decrease the number of babies each person has,” and the use of hormones to decrease testosterone and increase empathy.

According to the article, Prof. Liu and his merry band of eugenicists are “not necessarily advocating for any one of these modifications in particular” but “just think scientists should look into how feasible changing certain aspects of human biology might be.”

How about, “hell no!” to that idea?
