College newspaper's blog post on tampons and gender equality leads to crazy editor's note

The Daily Bruin, UCLA ‘s student run newspaper, has a blog post up titled, “Free tampons would slow flow of gender inequality,” that argues for free or government subsidized tampons and pads for women, but it’s the editor’s note attached to the piece that has us scratching our heads. So men can mensturate or something?

Maybe “Disclaimer of the Year” is more appropriate. And this really does seem Orwellian to us:
