Meet the actor and actress playing Barack and Michelle Obama in new film about their first date

Who’s ready for a movie about how Barack Obama met Michelle? Nobody raised their hand? Weird…

Anyway, there is a movie being made about their first date tentatively titled, “Southside with You” that will begin filming in August and set to hit theaters some time in 2016.

And the role of young Barack Obama in this sure-to-be delightful take on the young community organizer in love will be played by Parker Sawyers:

Sawyers had roles in “Zero Dark Thirty” and “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,” among others.

Michelle will be played by Tika Sumpter:

Sumpter is well known for her appearances on television and in the movies including “The Haves and Have Nots,” “Gossip Girls,”  and last year starring alongside Kevin Hart and Ice Cube in “Ride Along.”

So, do they give this film an Oscar now or do they wait until it has finished filming?
