Amanda Marcotte decries unfunny 'Internet feminism' and their attacks on Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner

Feminist outrage was out in full force this week at a video of actors Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner, stars of the upcoming “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” for calling Scarlett Johansson’s character in the film a “slut” and a “whore.”

The two actors have since apologized:

But Amanda Marcotte thinks the “outrage” is pretty stupid:

And laments that “Internet feminists” can’t take a joke:

Really? When exactly did this golden age of comedy among “Internet feminists” take place? We’d love to read some of their greatest hits:

Funnier than all this are some of the feminists pushing back on Marcotte’s “Internet feminist” line as if they’re not real feminists in the struggle against the patriarchy:

And if Marcotte wants to get angry at “Internet feminists” who can’t take a joke, maybe a look in the mirror is in order:

In other words, Marcotte gets to decide when a joke is outrageous or not, not you lowly “Internet feminists.” Please keep that in mind during any upcoming outrages, thank you.
