David Brock links to article on candidate Ted Cruz missing Senate votes, neglects Hillary's awful Senate attendance record

Yes, David … senators running for president tend to miss some votes:

And the liberals at Battleground Texas think this is a big deal, too:

As for the votes Sen. Cruz has missed, even the Dallas Morning News who is responsible for the article they’re linking to says it’s not big deal:

The votes Cruz missed so far this week were hardly world-changing, including a flurry late Wednesday.

The first was the 89-0 confirmation of a new federal maritime commissioner. He also missed the 98-1 rejection of the president’s budget and lots of party-line votes on budget amendments. On many, he was the only absent senator.

But since liberals in Texas and David Brock do think this is something to watch, let’s take a look at the 2008 campaign and see how Senators Clinton, Obama, Biden and Dodd did with respect to finding the time to vote.

From CNN in November 2007:

Sen. Barack Obama has missed the most votes of any Democratic presidential hopeful in the Senate over the last two months, including a vote on an Iran resolution he has blasted Sen. Hillary Clinton for supporting.

The Illinois Democrat has missed nearly 80 percent of all votes since September.

The other Democrats in the Senate running for president have missed a high percentage of votes as well.

Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware has missed 68 percent of the votes during the same period, Sen. Christopher Dodd of Connecticut 65 percent and Clinton of New York 63 percent.

Note, President Obama recently suggested that voting should be mandatory in the United States. To that we say, “you first.”

And Hillary’s attendance record actually got worse as the campaign dragged on, missing 83.5% from October to December 2007, 44.7% from January to March 2008 and 77.9% from April to June 2008.

Over to you, David. Please tell us why your candidate gets a pass while Ted Cruz does not.
