Tragic news in two states to report this morning.
San Jose, Calif. Police Officer Michael Johnson was shot and killed last night while investigating a report of an armed and drunk suicidal man, later identified as Scott Dunham:
Because Dunham, 57, had access to weapons, including a rifle, the family member feared he may harm someone.
As San Jose police officers approached Dunham’s apartment complex, police say Dunham opened fire, possibly from a porch or patio.
The bullets struck an officer, a 12-year veteran of the police department, who died at the scene.
Dunham was found dead after a standoff with officers:

Investigators say the robbery suspect first killed a 60-year-old man while stealing his car shortly after the robbery:
