Libs bring the hate to pro-life Idaho GOP State Rep. Vito Barbieri over abortion-pill question

Idaho State Rep. Vito Barbieri is getting widely mocked today for a question he directed at a witness during a hearing on bill that would ban “doctors from prescribing abortion-inducing medication through telemedicine.”

The Star Tribune reports (emphasis ours):

Dr. Julie Madsen, a physician who said she has provided various telemedicine services in Idaho, was testifying in opposition to the bill. She said some colonoscopy patients may swallow a small device to give doctors a closer look at parts of their colon.

“Can this same procedure then be done in a pregnancy? Swallowing a camera and helping the doctor determine what the situation is?” Barbieri asked.

Madsen replied that would be impossible because swallowed pills do not end up in the vagina.

“Fascinating. That makes sense,” Barbieri said, amid the crowd’s laughter.

Audio of the question here:

Admittedly, that does sound bad, but Barbieri did defend the question as “rhetorical” and “sarcastic,” and we can certainly see the point he was trying to make:

From the link above:

“She was drawing a parallel between a colonoscopy and how much more dangerous it was than a chemical abortion,” Barbieri told Russell. “So, I was trying to draw out the distinctions.”

But sarcastic or not, libs are out in full force in an effort to paint Barbieri in the worst light possible over his question:
