Oh, boy.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences just finished their announcement of this year’s Oscar selections, and there’s already a controversy over the ethnic make-up of the nominees.
“For only the second time in nearly 20 years,” every single actor and actress nominated in both the Leading and Supporting Roles categories is white:

What do all the Oscar-nominated actors have in common? They're all white: http://t.co/u1NncxUmA7 by @thisisjorge

A horrible year for diversity for the Academy: all white actors/actresses; no female writers or directors in Oscar race. Shameful. @Variety

Also apparently the Academy were all "look we did the slavery thing last year, just let us celebrate WHITE PEOPLE FOR ONCE JEEZ" #Oscars
— Seán Connolly (@TheSonicScrew) January 15, 2015
The Oscars theme this year seems to be "white power."

Lmao everybody got their hopes up for #Selma getting an Oscar. Sometimes yall act like you don't know how White supremacy works…
— Du Boisian Biologist (@Hood_Biologist) January 15, 2015
Once again, "important" white male stories rule. The Academy is clueless about what boldness it takes to tell a non-white male focused story

FUN #OscarNoms FACTS:
94% of The Academy is white.
77% are men.
The average age is 62.
Only 2% of The Academy is black.— Glen Coco (@MrPooni) January 15, 2015
And wait until MSNBC’s Chris Hayes wakes up and sees this list. He was already angry at the racial mix of Golden Globes winners:
Real white-out happening.

These replies to flame-fanner Chris Hayes' Golden Globes whine-tweet will crack you up (seriously) [photo] http://t.co/h2eM7hONqE

If Chris Hayes were making a movie, maybe he’d call it: “White Out 2: This time it’s really, really white”?
Anyway, here is the complete list of all the nominees.
