Hollywood superstar and adviser to President Obama, Kal Penn, is not very happy with American Airlines and a gate agent named “Valerie” who had the temerity to tell Penn his carry-on bag would need to be checked unless he removed some of the clothing in the bag to make it smaller:
Valerie @AmericanAir says my bag won't fit. I know it will, I fly this same plane regularly. She wants me to remove clothes from my bag

He’s an expert, Valerie.
I am now holding a pile of my clothes like a dude walking home after a night of debauchery except I'm getting on a plane.

Hahaha Valerie @AmericanAir in DC says if I put these clothes back in my bag once I'm on the plane, she will find me & then check the bag.

Now Valerie @AmericanAir explaining: she will check to make sure I'm holding this pile of clothes in my lap or else she'll check the bag

OK, it does sound silly that this was the solution to an over-sized bag, but then Penn went and got crude:

So now Penn is making sex jokes? Classy.
Eventually, Penn just put his clothes back in his carry-on bag once he was out of the watchful eye of the gate attendant, ending his crisis:
Valerie from @AmericanAir was the gate agent. Seatbelt sign is off so I put the clothes back in the bag. Bag fits. pic.twitter.com/Mgl8O2QiK6

Exit question: Why is a powerful Hollywood actor and White House insider giving a gate agent a hard time while she works on a Sunday night during a holiday weekend?
