Dems had been counting on Shapiro running away with this one:
Listen. Everyone has been telling me Shapiro will blow out Mastriano for months. Shapiro is only up four points rn. https://t.co/mIqULZXoKZ

And maybe Shapiro and Pennsylvania Dems running ads and sending out mailers promoting Mastriano and tying him to Donald Trump in the primary because they thought he’d be the easiest one to beat wasn’t such a great idea after all?

It's not just that Josh Shapiro ad: The Pennsylvania Democratic Party is also sending out mailers elevating GOP gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano and tying him to Trump. A source who shared these said they were sent to registered Republicans. pic.twitter.com/IuJMhUos1M

You played yourselves, Dems:
Democrats bought ads promoting Mastriano in the GOP primary because he's a far-RIght Trump guy who'd be easy to beat.#Doh! https://t.co/6XShaxXbxE

We’ll also point out that Dems are doing this in other states as well:
Democratic groups are buying ads touting some of the most extreme pro-Trump candidates in Republican primaries around the country — meddling in GOP contests to set up more favorable matchups in November. https://t.co/emdkE4LWr1

LOL. Keep touching that lit stove, Dems:
Why boosting extreme candidates in R primaries = playing with fire.
Josh Shapiro up, but by just 4 points against Doug Mastriano in #PAGOV race. Really rough environment for any D on a ballot this year. https://t.co/GTqZ2yNXy1

Maybe this time it will be different?
I’m sure this will work out fine. https://t.co/JWlAdUWXwK

And would it be too much to ask for these blue-checks to point out that Dems wanted this to happen? From Politico’s Sam Stein:
An avid election conspiracist and 1/6 attendee within the margin of error in a slightly important swing state governors race https://t.co/PjPcdT1IJG
— Sam Stein (@samstein) June 15, 2022
And from CNN’s Frida Ghitis:
One of the leading figures in the Jan 6 coup, Mastriano, closes in in race to become governor of Pennsylvania https://t.co/Z5NT5mpZ8z

How about pointing out how “literally” stupid Dems were, Dean Obeidallah?
The fact Dem Josh Shapiro is ONLY up by 4 points over Doug Mastriano a far, far right GOP candidate for governor who led effort to overturn 2020 election in Pennsylvania is literally frightening. We need to work harder than ever have in 2022 because our democracy is on the ballot https://t.co/UcH7ntYGzs

And from Rolling Stone’s Lisa Tozzi:
“Should Mastriano be elected in November, it would be perhaps the largest triumph for Christian nationalism in recent memory, and it would be thanks, in no small part, to the Martins.” https://t.co/LZ4cHsvAQ3

Well, Martin’s is — BY FAR — the best bread you can buy in the store. Is she trying to get us to like him more?
