School spokesperson came out to us before our live shot to say the school will release a statement. She refused to answer my repeated questions about the door not locking.

CNN did catch up with Arredondo earlier in the day where he denied yesterday’s reporting that he was refusing to cooperate with the Texas Department of Public Safety and its investigation:

But, Mayor Don McLaughlin says the newly elected members, including Uvalde schools police chief Pete Arredondo, were sworn in… today.
