A new poll out from the Associated Press found that “Just 26% of Americans say the U.S. should play a major role in the Russia-Ukraine conflict”:
BREAKING: Just 26% of Americans say the U.S. should play a major role in the Russia-Ukraine conflict in a new AP-NORC poll. President Biden has argued that fundamental American values are at stake in Eastern Europe. https://t.co/ZK8SOFlWRR

From the AP:
Just 26% say the U.S. should have a major role in the conflict, according to a new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. Fifty-two percent say a minor role; 20% say none at all.
Granted, everyone polled will have a different idea about what a “major role” means, but White House press secretary Jen Psaki dodged the question when asked about the poll at the briefing on Wednesday:
AP reporter to Psaki: "Only 26% of Americans want the U.S. to play a major role in this crisis. Given…this could increase costs…has the White House done enough to prepare [them] for…what impact it could be on their lives?"

The poll also found that “Americans are particularly focused on economic issues, including rising inflation,” which will make the coming rise in gas prices pretty hard to swallow. Maybe team Biden can get Tom Hanks to make a new video?
Maybe Tom Hanks should host a fireside chat (or TikTok snippets)with a map explaining the history of the region, the present-day players and how dangerous this moment is. If you've lost NPR listeners–woman in this story says she's tuned out–how many others r same? https://t.co/H4c4ZItnnW

It’s almost as if Americans are focused on major problems at home right now:
"I just feel like there’s a war going on in the United States, every day, in Chicago,” she said. “And it is really scary. And I feel like no one helps us.” https://t.co/r7TNV2k325
