MSNBC’s Joy Reid has a theory of her own on what really went down between Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Neil Gorsuch.
In short, Robert made Sotomayor issue the joint statement:
Very weird. Did Roberts also urge Sotomayor to issue a joint statement with the man who’s essentially forcing her to do her job by phone? 🧐 Typical. The woman of color is expected to serve as a human shield for the selfish, arrogant man who’s literally threatening her health. https://t.co/reN5MEgYVh

LOL. She’s serious?
oh hell yeah, this is amazing https://t.co/HHCQ218OF1

And she’s very mad at her totally made-up up theory as if it were true:
Joy-Ann made up a story in her head and then got angry about it. https://t.co/B4J2NUailO

Does Reid not see how weak this makes Sotomayor look?
Joy Reid would rather accuse Sotomayor of being a weak puppet than admit the story was wrong. https://t.co/uTqO3IeKJU

This makes Reid the misogynist and racist in case it wasn’t clear:
I don't cry "misogyny" or "racism" often, but it is both incredibly misogynistic and racist to suggest that Sotomayor allowed herself to be bullied by Roberts and Gorsuch because she is a woman of color. https://t.co/ulBNMqT6M8

This is *exactly* what Reid did:
It's so weird and degrading to take such an accomplished and powerful person and reduce her to "a woman of color". https://t.co/CLNbHTIMvI
